Role: Senior Software Engineer (SAP)

Location of work: QLD, ACT, VIC

Initial contract duration: Up to 12 months (with 2 extensions)

Extension term details: Up to a maximum of 24 months

Job details

1. Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.
2. Software Engineer professionals design, create, test and document software systems and applications in accordance with agreed development and security standards and processes.
3. EL1 Software Engineers lead software development projects and provide technical leadership to their teams. They manage software planning, development, and construction activities, and evaluate and resolve complex issues within the development and production environments.
4. EL1 Software Engineers are responsible for the quality and functionality of software, ensuring adherence to relevant standards, guidelines, and methods for system development.

7. work under the broad direction of senior staff to deliver results
8. make ethical, evidence-based decisions using sound judgement
9. develop and manage stakeholder relationships.





Key duties and responsibilities Duties may include some or all of the following:

1. Lead and create software and technical designs for the realisation of highly complex development solutions
2. Develop strategy to ensure high quality code and long-term maintenance of a product's code base
3. Provide specialist technical advice on software development and maintenance
4. Lead the release and ensure go-live production support and maintenance for the team’s developments
5. Lead analysis, design, software development, prototyping, unit testing and maintenance activities
6. Review and undertake high-level analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation with proposed solutions
7. Ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies
8. Investigate and resolve highly complex ICT issues
9. Lead a positive risk management culture
10. Engage and manage stakeholder relationships and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability.

Desirable criteria

- 1.Configuration management: Level 2 (SFIA)

Applies tools, techniques and processes to administer, track, log, report on and correct configuration items, components and changes. Assists with audits to check the accuracy of the information and undertakes any necessary corrective action under direction.
