About Amplify Procurement

Amplify are not your typical consultancy. We are a young and ambitious specialist Procurement consultancy that genuinely believe in the value effective procurement can bring. We have experienced rapid growth and are establishing an unparalleled reputation across Australia and beyond, with an ever-expanding spectrum of clients across multiple sectors with enterprise, mid-market, and government organisations.

We have recently launched a new function, where our team of procurement and AI specialists design and build tools and apps to address procurement’s biggest challenges.

Our Team

About the role

You'll take procurement challenges from rough idea to deployed, supported applications. This includes designing the experience, writing the code and keeping it running. The best person for this role makes complex things feel easy. End users should be able to use one of our tools and know what to do without a manual.

Your time is split across two streams of work:

- Managed service for client solutions. Some solutions are deployed into, and transferred to, client environments. You'll maintain them under a managed service: fixing defects, applying updates, monitoring model usage and cost, handling change requests and keeping documentation current.
- In-house build and maintenance. You'll design and build recent solutions and evolve existing ones, moving proof-of-concept tools into the shared platform, improving their UX/UI, and translating improvements to client environments.

Key responsibilities

Design

- Work with internal teams and clients to understand the requirements, then design flows and interfaces that are fit for purpose.
- Apply and extend the design system so every solution looks and behaves consistently.
- Turn dense outputs (risk flags, variances, maturity scores) into screens and reports a non-technical user can act on.
- Test designs with real users and iterate on what you learn.

Build and deploy

- Build full-stack web applications, from data model and back-end logic to server-rendered front end.

- Take tools from prototype to production: containerise, deploy to cloud hosting, wire up single sign-on, and set up CI/CD.
- Write maintainable, tested code, keeping domain logic separate from the web layer so it can be reused and verified.
- Package solutions so they can be deployed into a client's own environment with configuration, with minimal code changes.

AI and data

- Integrate large language models into all solutions, with structured outputs and clear fallbacks.
- Evaluate AI output quality, track token usage and cost, and choose the right model for each job.

Governance

- Apply sound data governance: data residency, access control, retention, and handling of confidential client documents.
- Maintain process governance: version control, code review, change and release management, and documented user guides.
- Keep each solution's behaviour traceable, so any output it produces can be explained back to its source.

Managed service

- Triage and resolve client issues within agreed service levels.
- Plan and deliver updates, patches and enhancements to transferred solutions.
- Report on solution health, usage and cost to clients and leadership.

What you bring

1. 3+ years building and shipping applications, with at least one you designed, built and deployed end to end and can walk us through.
2. Strong problem solving and critical thinking. You break ambiguous problems down, question assumptions, weigh trade-offs, and can explain why you chose one approach over another.
3. Full-stack development, including a web framework, relational databases, and server-rendered or lightweight front ends.
4. Deployment experience: containers, a major cloud platform (Azure preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and authentication via an identity provider.
5. Practical experience with AI models: integrating LLM APIs, running local LLM, prompt and schema design for structured extraction, evaluating output quality, and managing cost.
6. UX/UI design ability. A portfolio or examples showing interfaces that make complex information simple and are fit for their users' purpose.
7. Good data and process governance habits: handling sensitive data responsibly, version control and code review, testing,

documentation and controlled releases.
8. Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders, including explaining issues and options to clients in a managed-service setting.
9. Ownership. You're comfortable supporting what you've built and keeping production systems healthy, not just starting new things.

Nice to have

None of these are required. If you don't know procurement yet, we'll teach you.

- Understanding of procurement or commercial concepts: contracts, rebates, renewals, spend categories and categorisation, tendering.
- Experience delivering software as a managed service or under formal service levels.
- Experience with Excel-based models, or migrating spreadsheet logic into applications.
- Familiarity with HTMX, Alpine.js or similar low-JavaScript front-end approaches.
- Knowledge of Australian security and privacy expectations, such as the Privacy Act, IRAP or ISO 27001.
- Data visualisation and charting experience.
