D'Arcy Weil is recruiting a Senior Portfolio Analyst, Energy Strategy on behalf of a major integrated energy business. The role can be based in Brisbane or Perth and provides analytical and modelling support across a diversified generation fleet that spans legacy thermal assets and new energy investments, including:

- Running a broad range of modelling tasks and building commercial intelligence from the results
- Contributing modelling and analysis to major business initiatives and strategic projects
- Working through commercial and operational problems with structured analysis
- Improving how the business assesses its portfolio, so that analysis becomes more integrated and continuously optimised

The energy landscape is changing quickly, and the role gives senior leaders a clear view of where the value is across the old fleet and the new.

The Role

- Portfolio modelling: Run a broad range of portfolio modelling tasks, analyse the outputs and build commercial intelligence that supports strategic decisions across the generation fleet
- Strategic support: Contribute analysis and modelling to major business initiatives and strategic projects, helping optimise the value of established generation assets and new energy opportunities
- Problem solving: Identify, assess and develop solutions to commercial and operational challenges, applying structured thinking to complex business questions




- Process improvement: Start and carry through improvements to how the portfolio is assessed, building a more integrated and continuously optimised approach to analysis across the business

About You

- A background in electricity, banking or finance, with exposure to strategy and planning functions
- A working knowledge of the national electricity and gas markets, related financial markets and publicly available market outlooks
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to present structured analysis and recommendations to senior audiences
- A record of spotting process gaps and developing practical improvements
