Civil Labourer - Stormwater Infrastructure Maintenance

Now Careers is seeking reliable and hardworking Civil Labourers to join a long-term infrastructure project focused on the maintenance and rehabilitation of stormwater assets across Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. This is a unique opportunity to work on a major program of works involving the upgrade and repair of deep access shafts and manholes.
The Role Working within a specialised crew, you will assist with maintenance and repair works on existing stormwater infrastructure, including manholes and access shafts ranging from 15m to 50m deep. This is hands-on work in a physically demanding environment, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.
Operations are mobile, with crews meeting at a central yard before travelling to various sites across Sydney for day or night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

- General labouring on stormwater infrastructure projects
- Working within deep manholes and access shafts (confined spaces)
- Assisting with:
- Removal and replacement of step irons
- Removal of existing steel ladders
- Concrete patching and remediation works
- Application of protective coatings (CAC)

- Working at heights using harness and bosun's chair systems
- Supporting work crews both below ground and at surface level




- Following all site safety procedures and project requirements

What We're Looking For
- Previous labouring experience in construction, civil, remediation, or concrete works
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
- ESSENTIAL:
- Working at Heights (WAH)
- Confined Space Entry (CSE)
- Confined Space Rescue (or willing to obtain)

- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team
- Reliable transport and willingness to travel to various sites

Highly Regarded
- Concrete repair or remediation experience
- Experience working in shafts, tunnels, pits, or similar environments
- Civil construction background
