Canning Vale

Our client is a rapidly growing logistics and transport provider based in Canning Vale, specialising in refrigerated transport, cold chain management, general freight and heavy haulage.

They are seeking an experienced Fleet Workshop Manager to establish and optimise their internal workshop operations, overseeing a team of two mechanics and supporting the maintenance of a diverse fleet.

The immediate priority is to improve efficiencies, streamline maintenance processes, maximise fleet reliability and establish effective workshop systems to support the company's ongoing growth.

While the initial focus will be on strengthening the internal workshop function, there is longer-term potential to expand the operation into an independent, revenue-generating business. This is an excellent prospect for a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with strong leadership skills, a continuous improvement mindset and the ambition to help build a workshop for the future.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee two mechanics and establish efficient day-to-day workshop operations.
- Improve preventative maintenance scheduling, servicing and repairs to maximise fleet uptime.
- Identify cost savings, streamline processes and improve workshop productivity.
- Establish effective systems for maintenance planning,

parts procurement, compliance and cost control.
- Oversee maintenance across a diverse fleet of prime movers, rigid trucks, trailers, forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Build a strong internal workshop foundation, identifying opportunities for future growth and expansion.

About You
- Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
- Must already reside in Perth.
- Previous workshop management or supervisory experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicles and fleet maintenance.
- A proven ability to improve efficiencies, implement processes and optimise workshop performance.
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Commercially minded, proactive and motivated to develop a workshop operation for long-term growth.

What's on Offer?
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
- Work vehicle or vehicle allowance.
- Long-term potential to develop the workshop into an independent commercial operation as the business grows.

If you're a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with workshop leadership experience and a passion for operational efficiency, please call 08 6118 2278 and request Kennedy Tonks or email your CV to [email protected]
