Take ownership of how jobs move from drawing to delivery with a well-established Melbourne cabinet and shopfitting manufacturer in Braeside. Our client is looking for an organised, hands-on job coordinator who can set out jobs accurately, stay a step ahead of production, and keep clients, sites and the factory moving.

This is a full-time position on a Monday to Thursday roster, working across the office, factory and the occasional site, as part of a team of 20+ and reporting directly to the Managing Director.

About this opportunity:

- Key role with responsibility for jobs from set-out through to completion
- $83,000 - $104,000 per year + super (depending on skills and experience)
- 4-day work week, 40 hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm
- Secure full time employment with an established manufacturer
- Varied commercial and domestic cabinetry and shopfitting projects
- Located in Braeside, South-East Melbourne

What you'll be doing:

- Setting out jobs and preparing cutting lists, computer and manual drawings
- Ordering materials and hardware, sourcing non-stock items and getting the best price
- Organising sub-contractors such as painters
- Liaising with clients and architects by phone and email to confirm finishes and details
- Staying ahead of machining and production so checked jobs and materials are always ready to go




- Creating and following checklists to keep workflow, site deliveries and errors under control
- Keeping in regular contact with sites, customers and installers on progress and requirements
- Attending site measures and meetings where required
- Improving systems and processes to keep output efficient
- Helping with assembly, polishing or installs only when required

A typical day: check the next jobs are drawn up and ready for the machinists, order in materials and hardware, answer client and site queries, and keep every job on track for timing, quality and completion.

To be considered for this role:

- Experience in set-out, drafting or job coordination in cabinet making, joinery or shopfitting (essential)
- Able to produce cutting lists and drawings, by hand and on computer
- Experience ordering materials and dealing with suppliers and sub-contractors
- Strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple jobs at once
- Confident communicating with clients, architects, installers and factory staff
- Takes responsibility and accountability for the jobs you run
- A positive, solutions-focused approach to problems
