About True Diversity

At True Diversity, we understand that everyone is different, and that's what drives us. Every person we support brings their own strengths and unique qualities, and we're proud to walk alongside them as they lead the way in their own lives.

As a registered NDIS service provider, we focus on understanding each participant, listening to what matters most, and providing support that feels personal, flexible and respectful. We're proud to support NDIS participants across the Greater Ipswich and Springfield areas, building meaningful connections and fostering inclusion in everything we do.

If you share our passion for inclusion, respect and person-centred care, we'd love for you to join our team.

About the Role

We’re looking for caring, capable, experienced male and female support workers to join our team providing Community Access and Assistance with Self-Care.

Every shift is different. You might support a participant to attend an appointment, get out for a coffee, try a new activity, prepare a meal or build their confidence with everyday tasks. The focus is on providing individualised support that helps participants maintain their independence, pursue their interests and be active in their communities.

This is a community access and self-care role. True Diversity does operate SIL homes, and you may be offered SIL shifts from time to time to cover gaps in the roster, but SIL is not the focus of this position, and we are not recruiting for ongoing SIL work. If you are only looking for SIL shifts, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.

Key Tasks

- Support participants to access their communities, attend appointments and enjoy social, recreational and everyday activities.

- Assist with personal care, daily living activities, health and hygiene needs.

- Support participants with psychosocial and intellectual disabilities, including people who may display behaviours of concern.

- Follow behaviour support plans and agreed strategies, responding calmly,

safely and consistently.

- Administer medication (where required) and maintain accurate records.

- Drive participants safely to and from activities using public transport or your own vehicle.

- Maintain a safe, clean and supportive environment.

- Complete required documentation and reports accurately and on time.

- Follow all Work Health & Safety, NDIS Quality and Safeguards, and True Diversity policies and procedures.

About You

You genuinely enjoy helping others thrive. You understand that good support starts with good relationships, built on trust, empathy and respect. You stay calm under pressure, and you bring flexibility, patience and a sense of humour to every shift.

You have experience supporting people with psychosocial disability and behaviours of concern, and you are confident working within behaviour support plans. We are looking for support workers with availability across weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Essential Requirements

- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting people with a disability.

- Prior experience supporting participants with psychosocial disability and/or behaviours of concern.

- Prior experience in personal care, skill development and community participation.

- NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

- Certificate III in Disability Services (or equivalent qualification or experience).

- Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport, or willingness to use public transport.

- Reasonable level of physical fitness and resilience.

- Knowledge of person-centred and active support approaches.

- Computer literacy (MS Word, Outlook and basic data entry).

- Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Highly regarded

- Mental Health First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

- Training or experience in positive behaviour support, de-escalation or managing behaviours of concern.

Help Us Match You With the Right Participants

At True Diversity, we don’t just fill shifts, we match people. We pair workers and participants based on shared interests, personality and lifestyle, because support works best when there’s a genuine connection. When you apply, tell us a bit about yourself, including:

- Your hobbies and interests outside of work (e.g. DIY, gardening, jewellery making, makeup, fashion, budgeting, meal planning and cooking, sports, gaming, music or art).

- Any communities or events you’re connected to, such as walking or hiking groups or the LGBTQIA community.

- Whether you’re comfortable working around pets, like cats and dogs.

- Your experience with, or personal interest in, mental health and psychosocial disability support.

Our Commitment to You

- A workplace that celebrates diversity and values your individuality.

- Supportive leadership and an inclusive, team-focused culture.

- Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development.

- Meaningful work that makes a real difference in people’s lives every day.

Ready to Join the Team?

If you want to empower people with disability to live life their way, and you have the experience to support participants with psychosocial disability and behaviours, we’d love to hear from you. Apply with your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you’d be a outstanding fit. Please include your relevant experience with behaviours and psychosocial disability, and a bit about your interests so we can find your perfect match.
