A large South Australian public sector organisation is seeking an experienced and reliable Payroll Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-volume payroll environment supporting essential services.

Your new role
Reporting to the Operational Team Leader, you will support the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services. You will work as part of a collaborative team responsible for payroll processing, employee maintenance and responding to payroll-related enquiries.Your responsibilities will include:

- Processing payroll and supporting a range of payroll activities
- Completing master data entry, timesheet coding and leave processing
- Processing new starters, salary changes and contract variations
- Investigating and resolving payroll-related enquiries
- Providing professional customer service via phone and email
- Maintaining accurate employee and payroll information
- Managing high-volume workloads within strict deadlines
- Contributing to daily team targets and outcomes

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

- Previous payroll experience
- Chris21 experience, desirable




- Customer service and/or call centre experience
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong and accurate data entry skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and high-volume workloads
- A reliable, qualified and team-focused approach
