Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler with deep expertise in Exchange Traded Markets (ETM) and Trade Market domains, specifically within the Markets ecosystem. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade conceptual, logical, and physical data models. These models will underpin critical platforms across the entire trading lifecycle, including trading, market data, post-trade processing, clearing, and settlement.

Key Requirements

- 7+ years of experience in Data Modeling, Enterprise Data Architecture, and Data Design.
- Able to lead the design and maintenance of robust conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support complex financial market operations.
- Proficiency with enterprise data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or Hackolade.
- Knowledge of diverse modeling methodologies and able to modernise legacy data structures and design schemas optimized for high-performance cloud data warehouses and real-time streaming architectures
- Deep experience within financial markets, covering Exchange Traded Products (ETPs), Equities, Derivatives, and Fixed Income.




- Able to map and model end-to-end trading workflows, including order execution, market data dissemination, clearing, and settlement.
- Advanced SQL skills and proven experience modeling for cloud-scale data platforms (e.g., AWS/Azure Data Lakes, Databricks).
- Familiarity with event-driven data designs and real-time streaming architectures (Apache Kafka or cloud-native equivalents).
- Experience utilizing Data Lineage and Metadata Management platforms. Integrate data lineage, metadata management, and data quality controls into the core architecture to meet strict local regulatory mandates.
- Solid understanding of Australian and global financial regulatory requirements impacting data asset management, such as APRA CPS 234 / CPS 235 and BCBS 239.
- Ability to work with business stakeholders, data architects, quantitative analysts, and downstream engineering teams to translate business requirements into highly effective technical blueprints.
- Experience implementing or working with ISO 20022 and FIX Protocol messaging standards will be an added advantage.
