KIND THINKING OT
Perth
Great therapy should fit into real life
At Kind Thinking OT, we believe therapy works best in the places where children actually live, learn and play.
We provide warm, practical and individualised therapy in children’s homes, schools and communities across Perth. We work closely with families, educators and other professionals to help children feel understood, build confidence and participate more fully in everyday life.
We’re looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our small and friendly team on a permanent part-time basis.
A little about us
Kind Thinking OT is a small, growing practice supporting children and families across the Perth metropolitan area.
Our approach is empowering, team-oriented and judgement-free. We don’t see children as problems to be “fixed”. We take the time to understand each child’s strengths, their needs and the everyday situations that may be making life harder than it needs to be.
We’re a close-knit team, but we don’t expect everyone to work in the same place or in the same way. Our clinicians work independently and flexibly, knowing that supervision, collaboration and a friendly conversation are always available when needed.
We understand that life is a juggle. We want this role to work well for our new team member—not just on paper, but in real life too.
About the role
This is a permanent part-time position, with working days and hours to be agreed with the successful applicant.
You’ll work primarily with young children and their families, delivering community-based Occupational Therapy across Perth.
You’ll be trusted to manage your own caseload, calendar and client relationships. Your working week may include appointments in homes, schools and community settings, along with report writing, planning and administration completed from home.
Your role will include:
- Building warm, trusting relationships with children and families
- Developing practical, individualised Occupational Therapy intervention and support plans
- Delivering therapy in homes, schools and community settings
- Working collaboratively with parents, carers, educators and other therapists
- Preparing clinical notes, progress reports and NDIS documentation
- Managing your own appointments, calendar and caseload
- Maintaining high professional, clinical and ethical standards
About you
We’re looking for someone who is clinically capable, organised and confident working independently—but who is also warm, approachable and genuinely enjoys connecting with children and families.
You don’t need to fit a particular personality type. What matters most is that you care about the quality of your work, communicate well and treat children and families with kindness and respect.
You’ll need:
- A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy with the right to work in Australia
- Current AHPRA registration and National Police Clearance
- At least two years of relevant Occupational Therapy experience
- Experience working with NDIS participants
- Experience supporting children and their families
- Strong clinical reasoning and report-writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The confidence to manage your own caseload and calendar
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- A reliable and appropriately insured vehicle
You’ll also require, or be willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
What we’ll provide
We want you to spend your time doing meaningful clinical work—not worrying about where your next client will come from.
You’ll receive:
- A full-time equivalent base salary of $130,000, paid pro rata for your agreed part-time hours
- Superannuation in addition to your salary
- Travel benefits for community appointments
- An established caseload with flexible part-time hours
- Hybrid working, including working from home
- Autonomy to manage your calendar and appointments
- Regular supervision and clinical support
- Continuing career development opportunities
- Multi-practice insurance coverage
- The opportunity to help shape a growing practice
Why you might love working with us
This could be the right role for you if you’re looking for:
- A genuinely flexible part-time role
- Meaningful work with children and families
- A smaller practice where you are known and valued
- Flexibility that accommodates life outside work
- A workplace that values kindness, clinical quality and good relationships
- The opportunity to bring your own ideas, experience and personality to your role
