Iron Mine Contracting (IMC) is seeking an experienced Trainer & Assessor (Drill & Blast) to join our growing Drill & Blast team. If you're a highly experienced driller with a passion for mentoring, developing people, and improving operational performance, this is an opportunity to transition your field expertise into a role where you'll make a genuine impact across multiple mining operations.

The Opportunity

As a key member of our Drill & Blast leadership team, you'll be responsible for developing workforce capability, delivering hands-on training, conducting competency assessments, and ensuring our operators maintain the highest standards of safety and performance.

You'll spend your time in the field coaching crews, verifying competencies, mentoring developing operators, and helping build a highly skilled workforce to support IMC's continued growth.

What You'll Be Doing

- Deliver practical and classroom-based training
- Conduct VOCs and competency assessments
- Mentor and coach drill operators in the field
- Support onboarding and workforce development programs
- Identify training gaps and implement improvement plans
- Maintain training records and compliance documentation
- Partner with site leaders to improve capability and performance
- Promote a strong safety-first culture across operations

What We're Looking For Essential

- Extensive hard rock production mining experience




- Strong operational experience on Sandvik DP1500i / DP1510i
- Cert IV Training & Assessment (TAE40122)
- Proven experience delivering workplace training and assessments
- Sound understanding of drill & blast operations and best practice
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
- Current Driver's Licence
- National Police Clearance

Highly Regarded

- Sandvik DI650i, Epiroc T45 or D65 experience
- Previous Mining Trainer & Assessor experience
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor
- Cert IV WHS
- DGSC
- Experience developing training packages, SOPs and competency frameworks
