Year 10 English Tutor – One-on-One Tutoring (Launceston, TAS)

About the Role

Matching Minds is looking for a confident, engaging and knowledgeable English tutor to support a Year 10 student in Launceston through personalised, one-on-one tutoring.

We're looking for someone who can make English relatable, explain concepts clearly and build a genuine connection with their student. The focus is on strengthening English skills, improving confidence and helping the student achieve better academic outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

- Deliver engaging, one-on-one English tutoring sessions for a Year 10 student.
- Support reading comprehension, essay writing, text analysis, grammar and written expression.
- Help the student prepare for school assessments and assignments.
- Identify learning gaps and adapt your teaching approach to suit the student's needs.
- Build the student's confidence and independence in English.
- Provide brief feedback following each tutoring session.

About You We're looking for someone who:

- Has a strong understanding of secondary school English, particularly Years 9–10.
- Can explain concepts in different ways to suit individual learning styles.
- Is patient, approachable and genuinely enjoys helping students succeed.
- Is reliable, organised and communicates well with students and parents.




- Can travel to deliver in-person tutoring in Launceston.
- Holds or is willing to obtain a valid Working with Vulnerable People registration (Tasmania).
