About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and reliable General Motor Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for inspecting, servicing and repairing a range of motor vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.

Candidates will need to have strong mechanical knowledge, excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine vehicle servicing, maintenance and preventative repairs.
- Inspect and diagnose mechanical faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair, replace, and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems and other vehicle components.
- Conduct road tests and vehicle inspections to identify faults and verify repairs.
- Identify worn, damaged, or faulty components and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Use workshop tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, servicing, repairs and parts used.




- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications, workplace procedures and relevant safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
- Communicate clearly to customers and team members.

Key Skills and Requirements

- Relevant automotive mechanical qualification or recognised trade certification.
- Experience in general motor vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
- Solid knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, components and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to identify faults and troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues.
- Competent use of automotive tools, workshop equipment and diagnostic scanners.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid driver's licence is preferred or required, depending on the role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
