STORE MANAGER – KERBSIDE EATERY, DARBY STREET
Lead the team. Build the culture. Make your mark.
Come and lead the next chapter of Kerbside Eatery.
We’re looking for an experienced, motivated and people-focused Store Manager to lead our Darby Street store. This is an opportunity for someone who takes pride in what they do, enjoys building great teams and wants to make a genuine impact on the success of a growing hospitality business.
We want someone who leads from the front, takes ownership, brings positive energy to the workplace and understands that a great store starts with a great team.
If you’re proactive, hardworking and ready to take the next step in your hospitality career, we’d love to hear from you.
ABOUT KERBSIDE
Kerbside is growing, and we’re passionate about creating great food, memorable customer experiences and a workplace where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.
Our Darby Street store is an opportunity to build something special. As Store Manager, you’ll have the autonomy to develop your team, shape the store’s culture and help drive the standards and performance that will define our next chapter.
We believe in giving the right people the trust, support and responsibility to make a difference.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Store Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and overall performance of our Darby Street store, leading a team of approximately 10–15 people.
You’ll be hands-on and actively involved in service, supporting your team through busy periods while managing the people, processes and performance that keep the business running smoothly.
You’ll be responsible for creating a positive team environment, maintaining high operational standards and ensuring every customer has a great experience.
You’ll also have the opportunity to build your own team, develop future leaders and introduce ideas that improve the way the store operates.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead, motivate and support a team of 10–15 team members.
- Recruit, onboard, train and develop great people.
- Build a positive, respectful and accountable team culture.
- Lead by example and set clear expectations.
- Provide regular feedback, coaching and support to help team members grow.
- Identify and develop future leaders within the team.
Store Operations & Performance
- Take ownership of the store’s daily operations and overall performance.
- Prepare and manage effective staff rosters in line with business needs.
- Monitor and manage labour costs and productivity.
- Maintain consistent food quality, service standards and operational procedures.
- Oversee stock ordering, inventory control and waste management.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation.
- Ensure opening,
closing and daily operational checklists are completed consistently.
Customer Experience
- Create a welcoming, energetic and customer-focused environment.
- Lead from the floor and support the team during busy services.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Encourage positive customer feedback and Google reviews.
- Look for opportunities to improve the customer experience at every touchpoint.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify operational challenges and take initiative to solve them.
- Bring forward ideas that improve efficiency, service and team performance.
- Take responsibility for decisions, outcomes and follow-through.
- Maintain high standards while keeping the workplace enjoyable and supportive.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of Kerbside.
THE PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Attitude, accountability and a genuine care for people are at the heart of this role.
You don’t need to know everything about Kerbside on day one. We’ll support you in learning our systems, menu and processes.
What matters most is that you bring the right mindset, a strong work ethic and the desire to build something you’re proud of.
Ideally, you will:
- Have previous management experience in hospitality, preferably in a restaurant, café or quick-service environment.
- Be a hands-on leader who is comfortable working alongside the team.
- Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs doing.
- Be organised, reliable and confident managing competing priorities.
- Understand the importance of labour management, rostering and stock control.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully, even under pressure.
- Hold yourself and others accountable to high standards.
- Be comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for the outcomes.
- Welcome constructive feedback and turn it into action.
- Have a strong eye for detail, cleanliness and presentation.
- Care about delivering consistently great food and customer service.
- Enjoy developing people and building a team that works well together.
- Bring positive energy and stay calm during busy periods.
- Be excited by the opportunity to grow with a developing business.
We value managers who see what needs to be done and take action.
That might mean jumping in to help when service gets busy, noticing a team member needs extra support,
finding a better way to manage a shift or taking the initiative to improve something that isn’t working.
We want a manager who thinks like an owner, leads with respect and takes pride in the details.
YOUR STORE. YOUR TEAM. YOUR CULTURE.
This is more than a role where you follow procedures and manage shifts. It’s an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a store and help shape its future.
You’ll have the freedom and responsibility to:
- Build a team that reflects the standards and culture you believe in.
- Recruit, train and develop people who want to do well.
- Create an effective roster that supports both the team and the business.
- Introduce ideas and improvements that make a real difference.
- Make decisions that improve customer satisfaction and team performance.
- Develop team members into confident, capable future leaders.
- Create an workplace where people feel supported, valued and accountable.
We believe great managers should be empowered to manage. We’ll provide the support and direction you need, while trusting you to take ownership and run your store with pride.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In your first few months, we want to see you establish yourself as a confident, dependable leader who makes a positive impact.
Success means:
- The store is clean, organised and consistently well presented.
- The team understands its responsibilities and takes pride in its work.
- Staff feel supported, motivated and enjoy coming to work.
- Food quality and service standards are consistently high.
- Customers receive a welcoming experience and leave wanting to return.
- Positive customer feedback and Google reviews continue to grow.
- Rosters are well planned and labour is managed effectively.
- Stock, ordering and waste are controlled.
- Operational issues are identified and resolved proactively.
- New ideas are implemented and meaningful improvements are made.
- A strong culture of respect, accountability, teamwork and enjoyment is established.
- You feel confident running the store independently and making decisions that benefit the team and the business.
Ultimately, we want you to take pride in your store, build a team you believe in and create an environment where both customers and staff want to come back.
