Cabinet Maker / Detail Joiner – Commercial Furniture & Custom Joinery

Are you an experienced Cabinet Maker or Detail Joiner who enjoys building something more than standard, repetitive cabinetry?

We're an established Australian commercial furniture manufacturer based in Fairfield East, and we're looking for a skilled Cabinet Maker / Detail Joiner to join our manufacturing team.

This is a hands-on role for someone with genuine cabinet making and detailed joinery experience.

We're looking for more than general furniture or cabinet assembly experience.

If you can read a detailed workshop drawing, understand how a piece needs to be constructed and use your trade skills to take the job through to a high-quality finished product, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Be Working On

We manufacture custom commercial furniture and joinery for corporate offices, education, government and commercial fit-outs.

Depending on the project, you could be working on:

- Detailed custom joinery
- Reception counters and feature reception areas
- Boardroom and meeting room furniture
- Custom workstations
- Kitchenettes and cabinetry
- Storage and credenzas
- Feature joinery
- Bespoke commercial furniture
- Custom pieces for commercial fit-outs

The work is varied, and many of our projects require considerably more than simply assembling pre-machined components.

Most of your work will be undertaken in our up-to-date Fairfield East manufacturing facility, with occasional site installation work depending on the project.

What You'll Be Doing

Your work will include:

- Reading and accurately interpreting detailed workshop drawings
- Manufacturing custom cabinetry and commercial joinery
- Working from drawings through to finished product
- Setting out and assembling detailed joinery
- Fitting hardware, fixtures and components
- Cutting,



modifying and fitting components where required
- Working with different board products, laminates and furniture materials
- Checking dimensions, alignment and finished quality
- Resolving practical construction and manufacturing issues
- Producing custom and one-off pieces
- Working alongside our machinists and wider manufacturing team
- Ensuring completed work meets our quality standards

The Experience We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in people with experience in:

- Detailed cabinet making
- Custom or architectural joinery
- Commercial joinery
- Bespoke furniture manufacturing
- High-quality kitchen or cabinetry manufacturing involving custom work
- Shopfitting with strong workshop joinery experience

General furniture assembly experience by itself is not sufficient for this particular role.

We're looking for someone who understands cabinet construction and can confidently work through detailed joinery from a workshop drawing.

About You

Ideally, you'll have:

- Trade qualifications in Cabinet Making, Joinery or Shopfitting
- Strong hands-on experience in detailed cabinet making or custom joinery
- Excellent ability to read and interpret workshop drawings
- Sound knowledge of cabinet and joinery construction methods
- Strong setting-out, assembly, fitting and finishing skills
- Confidence working on custom and one-off pieces
- Accurate measuring skills
- Excellent attention to detail

- A reliable and consistent approach to your work
