CLEANERS AND CLEANING SUPERVISORS

Multiple casual and permanent roles | Northern suburbs of Melbourne

Silk Property Services Group is building a team for proposed school and commercial cleaning sites across Melbourne’s northern suburbs. Multiple casual and permanent positions will be available.

Available positions

Cleaners

Responsibilities include:

- Cleaning classrooms, offices, amenities and common areas.
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and waste removal.
- Cleaning and restocking bathrooms.
- Following site cleaning schedules, safety procedures and infection-control requirements.
- Reporting hazards, damage and supply requirements.
- Maintaining appropriate conduct, privacy and professionalism within the school community.

Previous commercial or school-cleaning experience is preferred, although training will be provided.

Cleaning Supervisors

Responsibilities include:

- Coordinating cleaners and daily site requirements.
- Allocating work and monitoring attendance.
- Conducting quality inspections and addressing missed work.
- Supporting the induction and training of cleaning staff.
- Managing cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Reporting incidents, hazards and child safety concerns to management and authorised site representatives.
- Communicating with Silk management and authorised school representatives.

Applicants should have previous cleaning experience and the ability to supervise staff,



manage priorities and maintain service standards.

Requirements for all applicants

- Reliable attendance and a solid standard of work.
- Ability to follow cleaning, safety and child-safety procedures.
- Professional communication and conduct.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Australian working rights.
- Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one before commencement.
- Willingness to complete site-specific inductions, including child safety inductions at school sites.
- A driver’s licence and/or reliable transport, as work may involve travel between sites.
- Satisfactory National Police Check.
- Capacity to perform the physical requirements of the role safely.

Employment arrangements

- Casual and permanent positions available.
- Training, site induction and cleaning procedures will be provided.
- Shift times vary by site, with school sites mainly before and after school hours.
