Experienced Painter or Supervisor – Ready to Step Off the Tools?

You've spent years building your skills and experience in painting and decorating. Perhaps you're ready to step back from full-time site work, but you're not ready to leave the industry behind. Or you may already be a qualified trainer.

We're looking for an experienced painter, leading hand or supervisor to join our trade training team at our Southport workshop.

No previous teaching or training experience? That's OK. We're more interested in your practical trade knowledge, your ability to work with people and your willingness to share what you know.

Who are we looking for?

We're particularly interested in experienced painters who have worked as leading hands, foremen, supervisors or in similar roles.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Extensive hands-on experience in painting and decorating
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials and equipment
- Experience supervising, mentoring or guiding other workers
- The ability to explain and demonstrate practical tasks
- A sound understanding of workplace safety
- A professional, patient and reliable approach

Experience as a Trainer, Leading Hand, Foreman or Supervisor would be highly regarded.





A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) would also be highly regarded, but is not essential to apply.

Never worked as a trainer before?

That's not a problem.

Some of the best trade trainers come straight from industry.

If you've spent years showing apprentices or other workers how to do the job properly, you already have valuable skills that can transfer into training.

We understand that moving into training is a career change. If you don't currently hold the required training qualifications, we're happy to discuss the qualification pathway, support available and appropriate arrangements while you work towards becoming qualified.

What will you be doing?

You'll be working with students completing their painting and decorating training at our Southport workshop.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Demonstrating practical painting and decorating skills
- Supervising and guiding students during hands-on activities
- Teaching protected and correct work practices
- Helping students build confidence and develop their practical skills
- Assessing student work, once appropriately qualified and authorised
- Sharing your real-world industry knowledge and experience
