We are seeking an experienced Casual Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and professional team at Keysborough Medical Centre.
About the Role
This is a casual position suited to someone who is flexible and available to provide reception coverage as required.
The successful applicant must be:
- Available for afternoon shifts
- Available to work until 7:30pm
- Available to provide last-minute cover when required
- Available to cover staff annual leave and sick leave
- Flexible with working hours, as there is no fixed roster
- Available to work on a casual, as-needed basis
- Have a minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a medical centre
Key Responsibilities
- Providing reception support to our GPs, onsite Pathology and Practice Nurse
- Answering and managing multiple telephone calls
- Scheduling appointments and responding to patient enquiries
- Processing payments and Medicare billings
- Emailing, faxing and scanning documents
- Managing patient records and general administrative duties
- Maintaining a high level of patient service and professionalism
- Multitasking and working efficiently in a busy medical setting
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year’s experience working in a medical centre/medical practice
- Previous medical reception experience is essential
- Previous experience using Best Practice software is essential
- Strong IT and computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy environment
- Professional, friendly and reliable manner
- Must be flexible and reliable for last-minute cover
- Must be available to cover annual leave and sick leave
- Must be available for afternoon/evening shifts, including shifts finishing at 7:30pm
