Junior Secondary Tutors — English & Science — Northern Gold Coast

Help Years 7–10 students understand their subjects and grow in confidence.

ATK Tutoring is seeking tutors for face-to-face, one-on-one junior secondary tutoring in Hope Island, Helensvale, Arundel, Parkwood, Labrador, Biggera Waters and nearby northern Gold Coast suburbs. Lessons take place in students' homes and agreed public locations.

English and Science are our current priorities. Maths tutors are always wanted too. Apply for the subjects you can teach confidently: you do not need to offer all three.

Your teaching strengths

English: confidently teach Australian school-curriculum reading, comprehension, writing, text analysis and assessment skills at the year levels you offer. Please distinguish school English from ESL-only experience.

Science: support the junior curriculum across the topics you offer, including biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth and space science. Please state any limits; Physics expertise alone does not establish confidence in all Year 7 Science.

Maths: help students build foundations, solve problems and understand Years 7–10 content within your assessed scope.

The role

Deliver structured, personalised sessions, adapt resources to students' needs, support homework and assessment preparation, and help students develop routines and learning goals. Travel reliably to local lessons and communicate professionally with families and our team.





Current northern Gold Coast demand includes Monday after-school English and Science sessions. Please state your regular teaching start/end times, including Monday afternoons, and earliest start date. Students are matched to assessed strengths, location and availability; no particular assignment or hours are guaranteed.

What we are looking for

Strong content knowledge and confidence teaching the subjects and year levels you nominate independently.

Patience, clear explanations and the ability to adapt to different learners.

Tutoring, teaching or coaching experience is preferred, but not essential; we support applicants with potential.

A current Australian driver's licence (open or provisional) and immediate, reliable access to a private vehicle.

Australian work rights and a current Queensland Blue Card, or willingness and eligibility to obtain one before starting.
