ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Planning Manager at our Dee Why manufacturing site, the Supply Chain Planner owns the daily, weekly and monthly production schedules for our telecommunications cable lines.

Working from the Sales & Operations Planning outcome, you will build the executable machine schedules in SAP S/4HANA, keep work-in-progress and inventory within target, and act as the analytical link between the planning, production and commercial teams so that customer promise dates are consistently met.

It is a hands-on, data-driven role for someone who enjoys interrogating production data, solving supply and demand problems, and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.

DUTIES

- Build and issue the site's daily, weekly and monthly production plans so telecommunications cable output is sequenced to hit customer promise dates while making the fullest use of available machine time, materials and crewing.

- Translate the agreed Sales & Operations Planning (SOP) outcome into executable machine schedules and issue Journey Cards/Tickets to Process Owners and Team Leaders.
- Create and manage production orders in SAP S4/HANA end to end, monitoring completion dates and re-prioritising the schedule as customer and stock positions move.
- Interrogate forecast, historical and live SAP data to quantify where the factory's supply chain is losing time or tying up stock, surfacing the improvement opportunities and demand/supply risk gaps early enough to act on.
- Review and evaluate how the current planning systems, machine capability and inventory structures are performing against schedule-adherence and Days of Inventory Outstanding targets.
- Monitor WIP against agreed targets across the lines and flag movements that threaten on-time delivery or inventory goals.
- Bring the findings from current-state analysis to the Planning Manager and the commercial and production teams as explicit, costed recommendations that resolve the supply or demand problems they are facing.
- Act as the primary analytical contact for commercial teams on order tracking and production progress, giving early warning where a promise date is genuinely at risk and keeping information flowing between planning, production and commercial.

- Prepare and put forward proposals that revise planning methods and procedures and re-work the scheduling workflow across the site's product areas, supporting broader operational innovation.
- Once a change is approved, help implement it — updating the standard planning routines, SAP master data and schedule-adherence measures so the approved improvement holds on the shop floor.
- Coach and mentor Process Owners and Team Leaders in the correct use of the planning tools, Journey Cards and SAP scheduling discipline, building the site's overall planning capability.
- Coordinate with dispatch to keep finished telecommunications cable moving to customers, tracing shipments against promise dates and feeding delivery status back into the plan.
- Actively support the site's 'Safety Starts with Me' practice, ensuring HSEQ standards and rules are followed and that injuries, incidents, hazards and illnesses are reported and acted on immediately to keep the workplace safe, healthy and sustainable.

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics or a related field
- At least 1 year of relevant supply chain, production planning or scheduling experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (or a comparable ERP system) for creating and managing production orders
- Strong analytical and data skills, including confident use of Excel, to interrogate forecast and live production data
- Sound working knowledge of production scheduling, work-in-progress and inventory management
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to present costed recommendations and coordinate across planning, production and dispatch

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
