The Money Store is hiring in Melbourne: Loan Writer, Admin Assistant and Interns

The Money Store is a Melbourne finance and mortgage broking business. We help clients with home loans, refinancing and investment property, as well as commercial and asset finance. We’re growing, and we want people who take pride in doing things properly: accurate files, clear communication and clients who feel looked after.

We have several roles open.

1. Loan Writer (full-time, on-site in Greater Melbourne)

This role is about owning loan files, not data entry. You’ll work alongside our broker and take residential applications from the first assessment right through to settlement.

What you’ll do

- Review income, debts and documents to work out how much a client can borrow and which loan suits them
- Run lender servicing calculators and model different scenarios
- Research lender policy and help choose the right lender and loan structure
- Prepare and lodge complete, well-documented applications through ApplyOnline, so lenders come back with fewer questions
- Manage each file through assessment, valuation, approval, loan documents and settlement
- Respond quickly to lender requests for more information (MIRs) and approval conditions, and escalate when needed
- Keep clients, brokers, referrers, lenders, valuers and solicitors up to date
- Watch the pipeline, spot delays early and sort out problems before they hold up settlement
- Keep MyCRM and lender platforms current, and keep every file compliant with the NCCP Act
- Prepare loan comparisons and client summaries to support the broker’s recommendations

What you’ll bring

- 2–3 years in residential loan writing, broker support or a similar lending role
- Experience lodging applications with major banks, non-bank lenders and specialist lenders
- Hands-on experience with MyCRM and ApplyOnline (essential)
- Good working knowledge of lender policy and servicing calculators
- Clear writing, close attention to detail, and the ability to manage many live files at once
- The confidence to own your files and work on your own

It’s a bonus if you have

- A Certificate IV or Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking
- Experience with self-employed and alt doc loans
- The ability to read company financials, business tax returns and trust structures
- Exposure to SMSF and non-bank lending

2. Administration Assistant ([full-time / part time])

You’ll keep our office and client files running smoothly.

- Collect and check client documents, and follow up anything still missing
- Keep our CRM accurate and up to date
- Book appointments and manage calendars
- Answer calls and emails, and follow up with clients, lenders and referrers
- Help with compliance records and general office tasks

You’ll need to be organised, careful with detail, friendly on the phone and comfortable with computers. Experience in finance, banking,

real estate or a professional office helps, but it isn’t essential.

3. Internships (finance and business students)

This is a chance to see how mortgage broking really works, from the first enquiry through to settlement. It suits students studying finance, banking or business, or a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking.

- Learn how loan applications are put together
- Support the team with research, document checks and admin
- Get mentoring from experienced brokers and loan writers

[Paid internship / placement as part of your course], with flexible hours around your study.

Why join us

- Work directly with an experienced broker and learn quickly
- Real responsibility and room to grow: admin and intern roles can lead to loan writing, and loan writing can lead to broking
- A small team where your work gets noticed
- [Salary range + super, and any other benefits]

How to apply

Send your resume and a short cover note to [email], and tell us which role you’re applying for.

Loan Writer applicants, please also answer these questions:

- How many years of experience do you have in residential loan writing or mortgage broking support?
- Are you based in Melbourne, or able to work on-site in Greater Melbourne?
- Do you have hands-on experience with ApplyOnline (AOL)
- Do you have full working rights in Australia?
- What are your salary expectations (base plus super)?
- What is your notice period?

We review applications as they come in, so we encourage you to apply early.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $128,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
