Canberra R3 Woori Church is a Korean immigrant church serving the Canberra community in Australia.

Our name R3 reflects our vision and calling:

- Reborn – A community reborn with Christ (Galatians 2:20)

- Renewed – A community dreaming of a renewed world in Christ (Isaiah 11:1–9)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Pastor to provide spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, and pastoral care for our congregation.

The successful candidate will lead the church in worship, discipleship, pastoral ministry, and community outreach while supporting the spiritual growth of our Korean immigrant community in Canberra.

Key Responsibilities

Spiritual Leadership and Pastoral Care

- Deliver biblically grounded sermons and lead worship and prayer services.
- Provide pastoral counselling, spiritual guidance, and care for congregation members.
- Foster a Christ-centred and spiritually growing church community.

Ministry Leadership and Discipleship

- Lead and support church ministries, including youth, campus, and worship ministries.
- Develop and mentor ministry leaders and volunteers.
- Encourage discipleship and spiritual growth across all generations.

Community Engagement and Mission

- Build relationships within the Canberra community through outreach, events, and partnerships.
- Support local and overseas mission activities.
- Strengthen connections with Korean immigrant families and the broader Australian community.

Pastoral Development and Mentorship

- Continue theological education and pastoral development.
- Participate in denominational training and leadership development.
- Work alongside experienced pastors for mentorship and guidance.

Key Selection Criteria

Applicants should demonstrate:





- A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a transparent calling to pastoral ministry.
- Relevant theological qualifications from an accredited theological seminary.
- Experience in pastoral leadership, preaching, counselling, and discipleship.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of Korean culture and the experiences of Korean immigrant communities in Australia.
- A commitment to gospel-centred ministry, mission, and nurturing the next generation.
- The ability to work collaboratively with church leaders, ministry teams, and volunteers.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

- Hold a Diploma or higher qualification from an accredited theological seminary.
- Have at least three years of pastoral experience, including experience as a Religious Assistant in an immigrant church setting.
- Be bilingual in Korean and English, with the ability to preach, communicate, and provide pastoral care in both languages.
- Have no legal restrictions preventing them from serving in ministry in Australia.

- Two Recent Sermon Recordings – Audio or video recordings demonstrating preaching experience.
