Employment Consultant - Transition to Work

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Employment Consultant to join a Transition to Work program supporting young people on their journey into employment, education and training.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with participants to identify barriers, develop tailored action plans and provide intensive pre-employment support that improves work readiness and builds confidence. You will play a critical part in helping young people achieve sustainable outcomes through coaching, mentoring and ongoing encouragement.

You will support participants with job search activities, resume development, interview preparation and employer engagement, while building strong relationships with local stakeholders and community organisations to create opportunities.

This is a full-time fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2027, based in Townsville, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver intensive case management and pre-employment support to young people participating in the Transition to Work program.
- Conduct assessments to identify barriers to employment, education and training.
- Develop personalised employment pathways and action plans.
- Assist participants with resume preparation, interview skills and job search activities.
- Source employment opportunities through vacancy matching and reverse marketing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers, community organisations and referral partners.
- Engage participants in activities that improve confidence, motivation and work readiness.




- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance requirements in line with contractual obligations.
- Achieve performance targets and sustainable employment outcomes.

Essential Requirements

- Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check.
- Ability to obtain a National Police Check with no disclosable outcomes.
