Job Purpose

This position assists the Food and Beverage Supervisor in directing day-to-day Commercial Services operations at Puffing Billy Railway (PBR) outlets, including Lakeside Visitors Centre café and functions, Specials Events and for Corporate requirements.

What you’ll do

- Support and guide the team on duty to ensure efficient and effective food and beverage service to our visitors– primarily at the Lakeside Visitors Centre Emerald, and other Commercial outlets along the rail corridor including Belgrave, Menzies Creek and Gembrook.
- Develop team member skills and knowledge in local food and beverage, food handling, health & safety, in menu ingredients and in potential allergens.
- Maintain food temperature charts in compliance with Food, Health and Safety standards.
- Work with the team: waiting and clearing tables, bar and refreshment service, operating coffee machine, retail sales, operating POS and EFTPOS.
- Open and close commercial site and co-ordinate allocated staff breaks.
- Maintain a Child Safe environment including reporting responsibilities and procedures.
- Behave in line with and model company values, principles, policies and procedures.

What you’ll bring

- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or team-lead role within a hospitality or food service environment.
- Service excellence: exceeding internal and external customer expectations
- Previous experience in the retail/customer service environment
- Proficiency in managing point-of-sale systems and inventory reconciliation procedures.
- Self-motivated with attention to detail
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and to foster and maintain team cohesion
- Willingness to work on a rostered basis, including weekends,



public holidays and special events
- Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised
- Ability to communicate successfully with people of other cultures

Qualifications & Experience Required

•Current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate

•Current Food Handlers Certificate
