Hays is partnering with a Queensland Government organisation to recruit a Senior Media & Content Officer, Digital for a high-profile project focused on public information, stakeholder engagement and community awareness. This is an opportunity to contribute to a significant government initiative, delivering timely communications that support informed decision-making and community confidence.
Your new role
Working as part of a collaborative communications team, you will play a key role in delivering digital content, media communications and stakeholder messaging across a dynamic and evolving project environment.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing and delivering digital content across social media and online platforms
- Writing engaging content including media releases, FAQs, briefing notes, talking points and communication materials
- Responding to media enquiries and supporting media coordination activities
- Identifying proactive communication opportunities to educate and inform key audiences
- Monitoring media coverage, public sentiment and emerging issues, providing recommendations and response strategies
- Creating and coordinating visual and digital content, including social media assets and campaign materials




- Working closely with subject matter experts to translate technical information into audience-friendly messaging
- Supporting communication activities across multiple stakeholders and project teams
- Reporting on communication performance and audience engagement metrics

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Previous experience in media, communications, public affairs or digital content roles
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate and engaging content under tight deadlines
- Experience managing social media channels and digital communications
- The ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Sound judgement when managing sensitive or rapidly changing information
- Experience working within government, emergency response, public sector or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related discipline will be advantageous
