Malin Friends Nursery and Kindergarten is located in Kew and provides exceptional learning and care programs for children aged 6 months to school age.

We are seeking to employ a cook for our happy and thriving centre. The cook role supports all our children and families by promoting healthy eating habits, and supporting a welcoming and inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 6 months to 6 years
Manage allergies, intolerances, cultural preferences, and dietary requirements and provide inclusive modifications to meals as required
Maintain our kitchen cleanliness, safety to the highest standard
Ensure compliance with Food Safety Standards and relevant health regulations including local council
Monitor food stock levels and place orders as required




Maintain accurate food safety records and temperature logs and daily documentation
Work collaboratively with the team to achieve the best outcomes for our children
Participate in staff meetings, staff training and other required events
Hours are negotiable - approximately 30 hours per week, four or five days per week

Essential Requirements
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Current Working with Children Check
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
Understanding of allergens and their management
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
