Ready to put your skills to the test in a busy, agile ophthalmology practice?

We’re looking for an experienced full time Medical Administrator to join our friendly team at Geelong Eye Centre, located at Epworth Hospital in Waurn Ponds. This is a fast-paced role where every day brings something different.

Shifts are rostered Monday to Friday, between approximately 8am–4:30pm or 9:30am–6pm. A 9-day fortnight is also available, with longer days to make up the hours. You’ll also need to be willing and available to help cover leave.

What you’ll be doing:
Managing the front desk and phones
Liaising with patients with care and professionalism
Supporting our ophthalmologists (Dr Fiona Pearce, Dr Bernardo Soares and Dr Philomena McNamara) and the wider clinical team
Coordinating and booking surgeries
Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, referrals and results
Communicating with referring optometrists, GPs, hospitals and specialists
Processing accounts and billing (e.g. Medicare and health funds)
Handling general admin, including scanning,



mail and banking

What we’re looking for:
At least 2 years’ recent experience in a similar medical reception or administration role
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
The ability to multitask and think on your feet in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service and communication skills
Proficiency in medical practice software
Reliability, professionalism and a genuine team-player attitude
A calm, friendly and approachable manner

Bonus points if you have:
Ophthalmology experience
Knowledge of Genie software
