Host / Hostess – Job Description

Avocado Lounge | Brighton-Le-Sands

We are looking for a friendly, confident and well-presented Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Greeting: Warmly welcoming guests and creating a positive first impression.
Seating Management: Managing table allocations, seating arrangements and customer flow.
Reservations: Handling bookings, walk-ins and waiting lists efficiently.
Customer Service: Assisting guests with enquiries, requests and special occasions.
Guest Experience: Ensuring customers feel welcomed, comfortable and attended to throughout their visit.
Communication: Coordinating with floor staff and management to ensure smooth service.
Presentation: Maintaining a clean, tidy and welcoming entrance and dining area.
Floor Support: Assisting the front-of-house team during busy periods when required.
Customer Relations: Building positive relationships with regular guests and professionally handling customer concerns.

Ability to remain calm and effective during busy periods.
Reliable, punctual and team-oriented.
Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred.

Growth Opportunity: Prospect to develop leadership and customer service skills, with potential progression into Floor Supervisor and Front-of-House Management roles.

Pay: $26.44 – $54.60 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 45.0 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:
Brighton-Le-Sands NSW 2216: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Application Question(s):
Must be able to confidently carry 2–3 plates at a time and have a basic understanding of floor service, including table setting, clearing tables, serving food and maintaining a clean and organised dining area.

Experience:
waitressing : 2 years (Required)
