About the OpportunityOur client is an established electrical, automation and industrial services company based in Melbourne South, delivering automation and control solutions to a range of industrial manufacturing businesses across Melbourne.Working with local, national and global FMCG brands, the company delivers PLC upgrades, automation projects, control panel builds, systems integration and ongoing technical support across a variety of manufacturing environments.Due to continued growth and project requirements, they are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.About the RoleThis is a hands-on position working across a variety of client sites, primarily throughout Melbourne's South-East, with occasional travel to the North-West.You will be involved in the design, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting and ongoing support of industrial automation and control systems.The successful candidate will enjoy working in a client-facing environment and be comfortable troubleshooting and delivering practical automation solutions within manufacturing facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesPLC programming, upgrades and modificationsHMI programming and configurationAutomation and control system designPLC upgrades and automation improvement projectsControl panel design and developmentElectrical design using AutoCAD or similar softwareIndustrial network configuration and troubleshootingSystems integration and commissioningFault finding and troubleshooting of automation systemsProviding technical support at client sitesWorking closely with clients, engineers, electricians and production teamsPreparing technical documentation and project informationEnsuring all work is completed in accordance with safety,



quality and client requirementsAbout YouWe are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer with a strong background in industrial automation and control systems.Essential Skills & ExperienceProven experience in PLC programmingStrong experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens and/or Omron PLCsProficient in HMI programmingProven experience in automation and control system designExperience with industrial networks and systems integrationExperience working within a systems integrator, OEM or end-user environmentProficient in AutoCAD or similar electrical design softwareStrong fault-finding and troubleshooting skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong commitment to safety, quality and teamworkCurrent or willingness to obtain a Police CheckDesirableFMCG experience highly advantageousManufacturing automation experience will also be consideredIgnition SCADA experienceA-Grade Electrical LicenceControl panel design experienceExperience with automation commissioningWhy Apply?
