Tax compliance (approx. 45%)
Prepare individual, sole trader, partnership, company and trust income tax returns
Prepare tax workpapers, reconcile ATO pre-fill and Income Statement data
Apply CGT, rental property, Division 7A and trust distribution rules correctly
Calculate tax estimates and PAYG instalment variations for clients
Identify tax planning prospects and flag them to the senior accountant

BAS and GST (approx. 20%)
Prepare and lodge monthly and quarterly BAS and IAS within ATO deadlines
Reconcile GST, PAYG withholding and fuel tax credits against client ledgers
Prepare TPAR lodgements for applicable clients

Financial statements (approx. 15%)
Prepare special purpose financial statements for companies and trusts
Process year-end journals, depreciation schedules and balance sheet reconciliations
Review client bookkeeping in Xero/MYOB and correct coding errors

Payroll, super and employer obligations (approx. 5%)
Support STP finalisation, payroll tax and WorkCover declarations




Check superannuation guarantee compliance and prepare SGC statements where needed

ATO, ASIC and regulatory (approx. 5%)
Respond to ATO correspondence, reviews and debt matters, including GIC remission requests
Deal with all matters related to ATO portal or lodgement matters.
Maintain ASIC company registers, annual reviews and change notifications

Client service (approx. 10%)
Manage a client portfolio and act as the main day-to-day contact
Run client meetings to collect information and explain outcomes
Communicate clearly in English and, where possible, Mandarin
Meet agreed turnaround times and keep clients updated on progress

Practice administration
Record all client activity, notes and documents in Zoho CRM
Record time accurately and support billing
Follow firm procedures, engagement letters, AML/CTF and Tax Practitioners Board requirements
Support junior staff and take part in team training
