Metric Fencing is an established fencing manufacturing business based in Maddington, Perth. We are seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator / Welder to join our manufacturing team.

This chance is particularly suited to skilled tradespeople currently residing in Australia, including Working Holiday visa holders actively seeking long-term employment and employer sponsorship under the subclass 482 Skills in Demand visa.

About the Role
Cutting, shaping, preparing and assembling steel components.
Fabricating metal frames, gates and other steel products.
Performing MIG welding and other relevant welding processes.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and fabrication specifications.
Operating fabrication machinery, equipment and hand tools.
Inspecting completed welds and fabricated products for quality and accuracy.
Learning other areas of our manufacturing operations and assisting other teams across the factory as required.

Essential Qualifications & Experience Applicants must meet one of the following:

Option 1 – Trade Qualified
Relevant Certificate III/IV in metal fabrication or welding, or a comparable overseas trade qualification.




At least 12 months of relevant skilled work experience within the past five years.

OR Option 2 – Experience Without Formal Qualifications
A minimum of three years of relevant skilled metal fabrication and/or qualified welding experience.
Ability to provide payslips and employer references verifying employment dates and skilled duties
Applicants must demonstrate practical welding and fabrication competency.

Visa Sponsorship Requirements
Currently residing in Australia with valid working rights.
Actively seeking long-term employment and subclass 482 visa sponsorship.
Able to provide evidence of previous employment and qualifications, where applicable.
Willing to undertake a formal skills assessment if required.

Working Holiday visa holders (417/462) are welcome, provided they meet the relevant skills and experience requirements. This is a long-term employment prospect, not a short-term Working Holiday placement.

Potential sponsorship is subject to meeting the relevant occupation, skills assessment and immigration requirements.
