Apply Your Tax Expertise Across South Australian GovernmentWe think outside the box by redefining recruitment.Through long-term partnerships, we connect the right people (You) with the right opportunities to shape careers and drive change in Australia and beyond.Synergie Australia is seeking an ASO5 Taxation Accountant for a trusted Government client located in Port Adelaide.The key parts:Pay:$40–$55 per hour + Super | Duration:3-month contract (potential for extension)Police clearance: Current National Police Clearance requiredWhat you will be required to do:As the Taxation Accountant, you will:Prepare and review complex GST, FBT and Payroll Tax returnsProduce supporting working papers, reconciliations and briefing materialsLiaise with government client agencies and taxation authoritiesAnalyse financial information and investigate taxation discrepanciesProvide accurate advice on taxation legislation, rulings and case lawIdentify training requirements relating to taxation complianceResearch legislative and regulatory changes and communicate their impactContribute to the development of taxation policies and proceduresSupport compliance across government financial systems and processesUndertake quality assurance, risk management and continuous improvement workBuild productive working relationships with clients and stakeholdersMaintain complete and accurate business recordsDeliver services in accordance with agreed performance measures and legislative requirementsTo be successful in the role you will:Experience preparing complex taxation returnsSound working knowledge of GST, FBT and Payroll Tax requirementsExperience preparing reconciliations and analysing financial dataThe ability to interpret taxation legislation,
