The Role
Sharp & Carter is partnering with a growing hospitality group to appoint a recent Finance Operations Manager.
With multiple venues currently operating and further expansion plans underway, this is a unique opportunity to join a founder-led business and take ownership of the finance function. Reporting directly to the Directors, you'll play a key role in supporting decision-making, managing cash flow, improving reporting, and driving profitability across the venue portfolio.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk and simply produce month-end reports. We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, improving processes, and being embedded within the operations of the business.
Supported by an offshore team handling transactional finance, you'll be the key finance contact for the group and have the opportunity to grow alongside the business as recent venues are acquired and launched.
Key Responsibilities
Own the day-to-day finance function across the hospitality group
Prepare and deliver weekly management reporting and cash flow forecasts
Analyse venue performance, profitability and key operational KPIs
Partner with Directors and Venue Managers to provide commercial insights and recommendations
Monitor labour costs, food and beverage margins, and other key performance drivers
Manage month-end processes and coordinate with external accounting partners
Oversee BAS, payroll tax and statutory compliance requirements
Review and improve financial controls, reporting processes and systems
Support new venue openings, acquisitions and due diligence activities
Manage and liaise with offshore AR/AP support staff
Ideal Candidate
We're seeking a hands-on Finance Manager or Senior Accountant with experience in hospitality, multi-site retail, or a consumer-facing business. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working autonomously as the sole onshore finance lead, partnering directly with business owners, managing cash flow, delivering commercial insights, and supporting business growth. Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to operate in a quick-paced, entrepreneurial environment are essential. Hospitality experience is highly regarded due to the unique revenue streams and operational complexities of the industry.
