As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be the backbone of our service operations, responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines and associated vehicle systems.
This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional workmanship.
You will work with modern diagnostic tools and equipment whilst managing your own workload in a professional workshop environment.What you'll be doingDiagnose diesel engine faults and mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and technical knowledgePerform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, safety and HVIS Prep inspections.Repair diesel engines, high pressure diesel fuel injection systems and related componentsConduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify potential problems before they become major issuesReplace worn or damaged parts with quality components, ensuring proper installation and testingMaintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completedLiaise with customers to explain repair requirements, costs,



and timelines in a explicit and professional mannerAdhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop protocolsKeep abreast of new diesel engine technologies and repair techniquesWhat we're looking forTrade qualification or recognised apprenticeship in automotive mechanics or diesel engine mechanicsMinimum 3 years of proven experience working on buses and coaches in a professional workshop environmentStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issuesCompetency with diesel engine systems, fuel injection, turbocharging, and engine management systemsProficiency with mechanical tools and modern diagnostic equipmentKnowledge of relevant health and safety standards and workplace regulationsExcellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team membersValid driver's licencePhysical fitness and ability to work in a hands-on setting, including lifting heavy componentsWhat we offerAt Coach Plus Diesel Service, we value our team and offer a competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
