Position: Senior Electrical Engineer
Salary: 160-180k +

Design & Build has partnered with an established EPC business delivering major projects across power, renewables, and infrastructure.

You’ll take the technical lead on secondary systems for HV substations and renewable energy projects, delivering protection and control designs from concept through to commissioning.

This is a hands-on role with a balance of technical design, client interaction, and project input, perfect if you enjoy both detail and big-picture work.

What you’ll be doing:
Leading the preparation of protection and secondary systems design packages
Developing and reviewing schematics, logic diagrams, and functional specs




Coordinating with primary, civil, and drafting teams to ensure design alignment
Ensuring compliance with industry standards, QA, and client expectations
Supporting project delivery from early design through testing and commissioning
Collaborating with internal stakeholders, OEMs, and utilities as needed

What you’ll bring:
Proven experience in secondary systems design for HV & EHV Substations
Expertise in protection relays, control systems, and SCADA
Strong working knowledge of AS/NZS 61850 and relevant HV standards
Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
CPEng (or working towards) and EA membership preferred
Solid communication and documentation skills
