Beaufort & Skipton Health Services is seeking aPurchasing Officerto join our team on apart-time basis.
This role is based inBeaufort, VIC ****and offers a unique opportunity to support the efficient procurement operations of our healthcare organisation.
As Purchasing Officer, you will play a vital role in managing supplier relationships, processing purchase orders, and ensuring our health services have access to the supplies and equipment needed to deliver quality care to our patients.
This position is essential to our operational excellence and cost management objectives.
Key responsibilities
Processing and managing purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
Maintaining accurate records of purchases, invoices, deliveries and supplier information within our procurement systems
Monitoring inventory levels and alerting relevant departments to stock availability and ordering requirements
Coordinating with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and specifications
Ensuring compliance with healthcare procurement regulations and organisational procurement policies
Resolving purchasing discrepancies, delivery issues and supplier disputes in a timely manner
Preparing purchasing reports and documentation as required by management
Supporting the finance team in the management of contracts and supplier performance




What we're looking for
Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement or administrative role within a healthcare setting or similar organisation is desirable
Strong proficiency with procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple purchase orders simultaneously
Attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial and procurement documentation
Knowledge of healthcare procurement practices and regulatory compliance requirements is desirable
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to supporting team objectives
Ability to work independently whilst being a team-oriented team member
