Operations Manager - National - Sydney Based
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experiencedOperations Managerto take a senior leadership role within a growing national optical retail network.
Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple locations, working closely with Store Managers, optometry teams and key stakeholders to drivesales, profitability, operational excellence and an exceptional customer experience.
This is a broad, hands-on role suited to an experienced retail leader who enjoys developing people, analysing performance and implementing practical strategies that deliver measurable results.
The Role You will provide leadership and operational support across the store network, helping individual locations achieve their financial, customer service and operational objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Monitoring performance across KPIs including sales, margins, AOV, Medicare, remakes and operating costs
Reviewing sales against targets and budgets and identifying opportunities for improvement
Coaching and supporting Store Managers and their teams
Driving initiatives to improve customer experience, satisfaction and loyalty
Managing inventory, stock control, merchandising and stocktake processes
Supporting marketing campaigns, promotions, product launches and supplier initiatives
Ensuring operational procedures and relevant compliance requirements are maintained
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training and development
Overseeing workforce planning and assisting with people and performance matters




Managing store projects, upgrades and maintenance
Supporting the successful opening and rollout of new locations, including store set-up, fixtures, suppliers, stock and staffing requirements.

About You
You will ideally haveat least two years' experience within a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment, with solid knowledge of retail operations and a genuine focus on quality service.
Experience inmulti-site retail, optical, pharmacy, health, fashion or another service-focused retail environmentwould be particularly relevant.
You'll bring strong commercial awareness together with experience in inventory management, stock control, labour costs, staff management and training.
Most importantly, you'll be a confident and supportive leader with acoaching and mentoring style.
You'll be highly organised, comfortable working with KPIs and financial information, able to make sound decisions and capable of building strong relationships at all levels.
