The Architectural Design Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality architectural design education to primary and secondary school students through practical, project-based and industry-informed learning experiences.
The role develops students' creativity, spatial awareness, design thinking, model-making and visual communication.
It combines exploration of the built environment with age-appropriate instruction in architectural drawing, Rhino, 3D modelling and rendering.
The Instructor shares professional knowledge with enthusiasm and patience, making architectural concepts accessible to young learners.
Key responsibilities
Deliver engaging lessons, practical workshops and guided projects for primary and secondary school students, adapting project complexity, language and demonstrations to students' ages, abilities and learning needs
Teach architectural design concepts including space, form, scale, proportion, site observation, concept development, sketching, architectural drawing, materials, model-making, sustainable design and accessibility
Guide students from an initial brief through research, ideas, testing and refinement to a final model or presentation
Provide progressive, age-appropriate instruction in Rhino for 3D modelling, including navigation, drawing, geometry creation, editing, organisation and presentation
Teach rendering and visualisation using platforms such as V-Ray, Enscape, Twinmotion or Lumion according to course requirements
Introduce responsible and ethical use of approved AI-supported tools for ideation, visual exploration and presentation development where appropriate
Guide students in documenting research, sketches,



physical models, digital models and rendered images in age-appropriate design portfolios
Create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports creative confidence, independent thinking, collaboration, communication, innovation and problem-solving
Assess student work fairly and consistently against agreed learning outcomes and provide meaningful feedback
Contribute to architectural design curriculum, lesson plans, briefs, worksheets, sample models and software tutorials
About you
Strong background in architecture or architectural design
Practical skills in Rhino, 3D modelling and rendering software
Genuine enthusiasm for sharing skilled knowledge with young learners
Patient, enthusiastic and passionate about inspiring the next generation of designers
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly, patiently and at an appropriate level
Experience or capability in teaching primary and secondary school students
Ability to maintain current architectural design knowledge and practical capability in Rhino and relevant rendering workflows
Commitment to child-safety, privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property and workplace safety requirements
