Senior Accounts Officer / Assistant Accountant

This is a long-term, secure role suited to an experienced processor who enjoys being the go-to person for their work, takes pride in doing it really well, and is looking for a role they can settle into. You'll work independently, own your processes from start to finish, and play a key part in documenting how the finance team works.

Key responsibilities
Write and maintain procedure documents for your own processes and the team's
Bank and balance sheet reconciliations across several entities
Process and reconcile corporate credit cards, petty cash and employee reimbursements
Support AR, payroll-related invoices, super and PAYG payments
Update progress claims and enter monthly AR claims
Maintain the fixed asset register
Assist with preparing BAS
Cover team members during leave and peak periods
Ad hoc tasks and projects as the business needs them

About you
At least 3 years Australian experience as a Senior Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant or in a similar role
Construction industry experience preferred




Proven ability to work independently and own processes end to end
Experience in writing procedure documents
Solid Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
Hands-on reconciliations and month-end experience
Good working knowledge of GST/BAS
A steady, reliable approach, and comfortable meeting fixed weekly and monthly deadlines
Works well in a team
Highly regarded: Sage Intacct, a multi-entity environment, and a degree in Accounting or Finance
