We are currently seeking an experienced MIG Welder / Mild Steel Fabricator to join a busy workshop based in Smithfield.
This role is ideal for a reliable, hands-on tradesperson with strong mild steel fabrication skills, experience welding 6mm fillet welds, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and weld mild steel components independently.
Perform MIG welding, including 6mm fillet welds.
Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering plans.
Measure, cut, handle and position mild steel materials.
Ensure welds meet required quality and workmanship standards.
Operate workshop tools and equipment safely.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working setting.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
About You
Previous experience in MIG welding and mild steel fabrication.
Confident performing 6mm fillet welds.
Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings.
Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Full PPE, including welding helmet, gloves and steel-cap boots.
Own vehicle or reliable transport preferred.
