As a Sales Parts Interpreter, you will be the vital link between customers, sales teams, and parts departments, ensuring accurate identification and supply of automotive components.
Your expertise in parts nomenclature, vehicle specifications, and inventory systems will directly impact customer satisfaction and business efficiency.
Key responsibilities
Interpret and translate customer enquiries into accurate parts orders and specifications
Identify correct automotive components based on vehicle make, model, year, and customer requirements
Cross-reference parts information using catalogues, computer systems, and technical documentation
Communicate effectively between customers, sales staff, and warehouse personnel to ensure order accuracy
Maintain detailed records of parts requests, stock levels, and customer interactions
Resolve parts-related queries and discrepancies with professionalism and attention to detail
Assist in inventory management and stock control processes
Support the sales team with technical parts knowledge and product recommendations
Ensure all parts orders are processed efficiently and dispatched correctly

What we're looking for
Proven experience in automotive parts identification and interpretation, ideally within a trade or service environment
Strong knowledge of vehicle specifications, makes, models, and component compatibility
Proficiency with parts catalogues, VIN decoding systems, and inventory management software
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and documentation
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused approach
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously
Previous experience in the automotive trades sector is highly valued
A valid driver's licence would be beneficial
