About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Chemical Engineer to lead the critical function of New Product Scale-Up at their facility in Queenstown. This role is instrumental in translating innovative laboratory discoveries into robust, commercially viable manufacturing processes. You will work closely with R&D; and production teams to design, pilot, and implement recent chemical processes, ensuring they are efficient, safe, and scalable. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the company's growth by bringing current products to market successfully, requiring a blend of strong technical skills, practical problem-solving, and effective project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the scale-up of new chemical products from laboratory to pilot and commercial production.
Design and execute pilot plant trials, collecting and analyzing data to validate process parameters.
Develop P&IDs;, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications for new processes.
Conduct risk assessments and develop secure operating procedures for new product introductions.




Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams on equipment selection and plant design.
Troubleshoot scale-up challenges and implement solutions to ensure successful commercialization.
Requirements
Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in process development and scale-up, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience with pilot plant operations and experimental design.
Robust understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation technologies.
Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
Excellent project management and communication skills.
