About the role
The Australia Institute is seeking a Social Media and Marketing Officerto produce high-quality creative material (online, print, press) which clearly and effectively communicates and promotes our research.
Responsibilities include:
Producing and executing creative material which clearly and effectively communicates and promotes Australia Institute research, including books and other publicationsTailoring and adapting content to suit different social media platforms including YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTokWorking in the Australia Institute's in-house media production studio to film video content for different channels, including podcasts, web shows, explainers, and interviewsWriting scripts for videos and other contentCreating social media tiles and reels based on interviews from radio and televisionFilming and/or photographing live events, including press conferences, speeches and panel events.
About You
You'll have a knack for communicating information visually and a background in video production.
You'll be keen to make an impact on big issues such as inequality, climate change and democratic accountability.
You're someone who is full of ideas and can deliver them,

We are seeking a Social Media and Marketing Officer with:
Ability to work as an effective team member and thrive in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to ensure accuracy and attention to detail of information across a number of different projects on any given dayExperience in a media production setting, setting up cameras, lighting and audioProficient skills and understanding in social media channels, writing styles and persuasive communicationAbility to create visual content with minimal directionHigh level of initiative and demonstrated ability to problem solveAbility to use in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere, AfterEffects and InDesign.Tertiary qualification in visual communication, graphic design, animation, film or media production, or similar.
