Ward Clerk | Postnatal Ward 4C | Flinders Medical Centre
Ward Clerk role - Flinders Medical Centre's Postnatal Ward — a short-term contract supporting families and clinical teams.
About the role:
The Ward Clerk provides the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff.
Ensuring that requests of the patient's family re visitors are adhered to.
Answering all incoming telephone calls and dealing with routine patient enquiries – using judgement in conveying appropriate information.
Provide support to registrars with collection of notes and discharge summaries.
Liaising with other departments (eg to Radiology, laboratories, other medical staff) as requested by the MUM/shift coordinator.
Take and word process minutes for unit meetings.
About you:
Ability to communicate with a range of patients, the public, visitors and staff in an effective and courteous manner.
General experience in clerical and/or receptionist duties.
Experience in using information systems and data entry.
Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills
Proficient in the use of a computer.
