The Oolong Aboriginal Corporation – Nowra NSWThe Oolong Aboriginal Corporation as known as Oolong House was established in **** and operates a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre on the South Coast of NSWOur program is designed for Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal men aged 18 and over, we offer a 16- week alcohol and other drug therapeutic program.Through our treatment programs, Oolong House enables people to integrate back into society reconnecting with their families and community.
We provide a secure place for individuals to stay while they are recovering, in an setting that is culturally appropriate and supportive of efforts at rehabilitationWe provide client cantered, holistic programs, focusing on all aspects of an individual's social and emotional wellbeing, as part of our program, we explore the positive impact that harm minimisation has on a person, their family and community.
We will provide a variety of life skills, financial,



all the while supporting clients and providing them with the tools needed to overcome their alcohol or drug misuse.About the roleKey ResponsibilitiesWorking with a caseload of up to 20 residents at any timeFollow up residents needs and requestsSupport residents through 16 week programNotify residents of the outcome of their request throughout the programConduct and notify residents of their leaves and visit requestsConduct treatment plans with residents upon arrivalLiaise with external agencies such as Probation and Parole, NSW Police Service, Solicitors ETCParticipate in random room searchesComplete case notes accurately and in a timely mannerBenefits and perksOolong House offers a positive and supportive team environment.Skills and experienceAbility to communicate effectively in a teamAbility to work under pressureDemonstrated capacity to work with groupsAbility to implement and encourage others to implement all organisational Policies & ProceduresPrevious experience managing needs of complex clientsPrevious experience working with people with problems related to Alcohol and Other Drugs and Mental IllnessCertificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or willingness to obtain
