We pride ourselves on our ability to develop a rapid understanding of business issues, formulate an achievable plan, and execute it to deliver improvements to our clients' bottom line.The OpportunityWe're looking for an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our team, working directly with a leading Open Cut Mining Operation in Queensland.This role will suit an experienced Mining Engineer with a strong open cut mining background who can provide technical leadership across mine planning and engineering activities, support protected and efficient production, and work collaboratively with site leadership, technical services and operational teams to achieve operational targets.What You'll Be DoingProviding technical leadership and support across open cut mining engineering activitiesSupporting the development and implementation of short, medium and long-term mine plansLeading and contributing to mine design, scheduling and production planning activitiesWorking closely with Mining Management and Operations to ensure plans are practical, achievable and aligned with operational requirementsMonitoring mining performance against plans and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and operational outcomesProviding technical input into mine design, sequencing, scheduling and optimisationSupporting the development and review of mining schedules and production forecastsIdentifying operational and technical risks and developing practical solutions to maintain performanceWorking closely with Production,



Geology, Survey, Maintenance and other key stakeholdersProviding technical guidance and mentoring to Mining Engineers and other members of the technical teamContributing to continuous improvement initiatives across mining operationsSupporting compliance with site standards, procedures and relevant regulatory requirementsProviding technical reporting and communicating key issues, risks and opportunities to site leadershipTaking a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve mine performance and deliveryWhat We're Looking ForProven experience at Senior Mining Engineer or Lead Mining Engineer level within an open cut mining environmentDemonstrated experience in mine planning, scheduling and/or mine designStrong understanding of open cut mining practices, operational requirements and mine planning principlesExperience working closely with mining operations and technical services teamsStrong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to translate plans into practical operational outcomesStrong leadership and stakeholder management skillsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and operational teamsStrong problem-solving and decision-making capabilityA proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational performanceWe are looking for people that are ambitious and able to use their initiative to drive outcomes.
