About CircuitHubCircuitHub is reshaping electronics manufacturing with The Grid, a factory-scale robotics platform that makes small-batch, high-mix electronics assembly radically more efficient.
Think semiconductor-fab precision applied to the chaotic world of prototyping and low-volume production: a 10x throughput improvement in one of the world's most foundational industries. We've raised $45M from top-tier investors including Plural, Y Combinator and Google Ventures, and we're already profitable.
Our customers include a major EV maker, a top AI lab and many of the worlds largest companies. The Grid isn't a prototype.
It's live, scaling fast and delivering real revenue, and we're building the team that will scale it further. The roleMechatronics Engineers at CircuitHub own projects end to end.
You'll start with a problem, often on our factory floor, and take it all the way to a working machine:Understand the problem and turn it into a clear specificationGenerate ideas and choose the right mechanismDesign it in CAD and prove it out with the engineering calculationsPrototype and build it, machining parts in our in-house CNC shopBring it to life with software on our in-house robotics operating systemWe work AI-first.
AI tools help you scope the problem, drive your CAD, run the calculations and write the machine software.
The software side needs basic software engineering skills, not a software background: you'll write it with AI agents, supported by a dedicated software engineering team who build the operating system. You must have built things before, ideally robots, whether as a hobbyist, student, employee or founder.
We don't hire narrow specialists.
We want engineers who can:Diagnose system-wide failures from first principlesPrototype mechanical and software fixes on the flyWork autonomously and communicate clearly with a team spread across sitesTake responsibility for how their machines perform in live productionThings you'll doThis is a design role with hands-on prototyping.
For example:Conceive new mechanisms to handle electronics parts and other robotic handling tasks, using AI to scope and specify the problemDesign gantries and end effectors in Fusion 360Use AI agents to run the engineering calculations, and know when to distrust themMachine prototype parts in our in-house CNC shopAnalyse end-effector behaviour from video and revise its geometry and control approach to improve throughput and reliabilityProgram machine behaviour on our in-house robotics operating system, with AI agents doing the heavy liftingSpecify sensors that catch errors while a machine is running, or monitor a chemical processPrototype and deploy a new test robot for in-line PCB validationCommission your machines and hand them over to our build team to scale upWork across our US and UK sites to share what you've learned and shape the roadmapBonus skillsExperience programming machines, whether PLCs, robot controllers, embedded systems or PythonProgramming and running CNC machineryDesign of chemical handling machineryOpticsPay and level£45K–£125K depending on experience, plus equity.A candidate at the lower end of the range might have:Built some systems before, with some exposure to robotics or automationSeen parts and subsystems through to manufacture as part of a design teamKnowledge of designing for machiningA keen interest in moving their career towards practical roboticsA candidate at the upper end might also have:Led the build and deployment of large-scale automated systemsWritten the software that controls their own machinesDesigned for a wide range of manufacturing methods, from machining to sheet metal to injection mouldingMentored more junior engineersThe range isn't a hard limit: if you're an expert in all of the above, we still want to talk to you.
Not quite so experienced but passionate and keen to learn?
