Sunshine Sugar is seeking an HSE Business Partner who can build credibility on the ground, influence operational leaders and help teams turn good intentions into safer everyday practices.
Based at Broadwater Mill in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, this role offers a chance to make a visible contribution to a business deeply connected to its people, growers and local communities. Operating three sugar mills and a refinery, Sunshine Sugar employs more than 400 people and plays an important role in the regional economy.

The opportunity

You’ll bring curiosity, sound judgement and the confidence to constructively challenge established ways of working. Your early priority will be to understand the operation, listen to its people and build relationships that give your advice traction.
From the crushing season to major maintenance activities, you’ll work alongside leaders and frontline teams to understand risks, strengthen controls and make improvements that work in practice. You’ll also contribute to projects across the broader business, supported by your HSE leader and peers at other sites.

- Coach leaders to take ownership of safety within their teams.
- Bring a practical approach to critical risks, investigations and corrective actions.
- Turn HSE systems and requirements into clear, workable practices.




- Build engagement through consultation, useful conversations and follow-through.

What you’ll bring
You’ve worked in HSE within a high-risk operational environment. You’re comfortable balancing time in the field with the investigation, reporting and systems work that supports lasting improvement.
Just as importantly, you can read a room, listen well and hold a constructive line when views differ. You understand that influencing experienced teams takes patience, credibility and the ability to explain the “why”.
Relevant WHS, environmental, allied health or related qualifications will complement your practical experience. Incident investigation capability is key; ICAM training would be valued.
