About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to take ownership of competitive, commercially sound tenders across a diverse pipeline of civil construction and infrastructure opportunities.

Reporting to the Chief Estimator, you’ll lead estimates from the initial review of tender documentation through pricing, internal review, submission and handover. You’ll bring together estimating, planning, construction and commercial expertise alongside supplier and subcontractor input to develop accurate, practical submissions aligned with how projects will actually be delivered.

For an experienced estimator looking to take the next step, the role also offers the opportunity to mentor developing estimators, improve estimating practices and build towards future estimating leadership opportunities.

What You Will Do

- Lead civil infrastructure tenders from initial review through pricing, submission and handover.
- Develop and review detailed first-principles estimates.
- Establish estimating strategies, assumptions and pricing approaches.
- Assess scope, commercial risks, opportunities and key cost drivers.
- Coordinate supplier,



subcontractor and plant pricing through market testing.
- Work with construction, planning and commercial teams to develop practical methodologies and programmes.
- Lead tender reviews, clarifications and handovers.
- Mentor estimators and improve estimating practices, benchmarking and digital workflows.

These responsibilities retain the role’s core requirements around tender review, first-principles estimating, market testing, commercial input, risk analysis, handover and mentoring, while removing repetition.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

- Senior estimating experience in civil construction or infrastructure.
- Strong first-principles estimating and tender development capability.
- Sound understanding of construction methodology, drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
- Experience developing direct, indirect and preliminary cost build-ups.
- Strong commercial judgement across risk, scope and market pricing.
- Ability to manage concurrent tenders and multidisciplinary inputs.
- Strong stakeholder, communication and negotiation skills.
- Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with Expert Estimation, CATS or similar software is highly regarded.
