Parts Interpreter / Parts Manager

ABOUT US

CBR JAFL is Canberra's authorised Stellantis aftersales centre for Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Abarth. American Builds, on the same site at 10 Barrier Street, Fyshwick, is a specialist American vehicle workshop, authorised FOX Factory distributor and AMW4x4-certified HEMI converter.

Alongside our online Mopar store, HEMI Specialists (hemis.com.au), we service, build and supply parts for everything from a Fiat 500 to a HEMI-powered Wrangler. We have recently opened a second location.

THE ROLE

We are hiring a Parts Interpreter to run the parts counter across CBR JAFL and American Builds. Candidates with management experience can step straight into the Parts Manager role and take ownership of the department.

Position: Parts Interpreter or Parts Manager, depending on experience

Location: 10 Barrier Street, Fyshwick ACT 2609

Employment: Full-time, immediate start

Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Parts Interpreter keeps the workshop supplied and customers served with the right part, first time.

- Identify and quote parts for technicians, retail and trade customers using Stellantis electronic parts catalogues and supplier catalogues

- Pick and issue parts to repair orders, return unused stock and chase back orders so vehicles are not held up

- Order genuine Mopar parts and aftermarket product (FOX suspension, HEMI conversion components, lighting, accessories) from local and US suppliers

- Order parts for our second location as needed

- Receive deliveries, check them against invoices, and bin and label stock accurately

- Handle warranty parts: tagging,



retention and returns in line with Stellantis procedures

- Pick, pack and dispatch online orders from hemis.com.au

- Serve customers at the counter and in the showroom, and recommend accessories that suit their vehicle

- Grow trade and wholesale accounts with local workshops, fleets and 4x4 businesses

- Keep stock records accurate in our dealer management system (Auto-IT) and assist with stocktakes and cycle counts

- Keep the parts department and showroom displays clean, safe and organised

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: PARTS MANAGER

At Parts Manager level you own the department's results, on top of the duties above.

- Own parts sales, gross profit, stock turn and obsolescence targets

- Set stock levels and reorder points, and manage stock investment and aged stock

- Meet Stellantis parts targets and dealer standards, and work with the Stellantis parts team on ordering programs

- Negotiate pricing, terms and freight with aftermarket suppliers, and manage US imports including customs and landed costs

- Set retail, trade and internal pricing in line with margin targets

- Set trade and wholesale account strategy, terms and growth targets

- Recruit, train and roster parts staff, and set department processes and KPIs

- Run stocktakes and reconcile stock with accounts





- Help set up parts departments at current sites as the group expands

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

- Full Australian working rights (visa sponsorship is not available)

- Parts interpreting experience in a dealership or automotive workshop

- Solid mechanical knowledge, including reading parts diagrams and decoding VINs

- Confident with computers, catalogues and inventory systems

- Clear communicator with technicians, customers and suppliers

- Organised and accurate under the pressure of a busy counter

- Able to regularly lift heavy parts and stock

- Current driver licence

Desirable

- Stellantis, Mopar, Jeep, Alfa Romeo or Fiat parts experience

- Knowledge of American vehicles, 4x4 or performance aftermarket product

- Auto-IT or other dealer management system experience

- Import, freight or e-commerce order experience

- Forklift licence

For Parts Manager applicants

- 3+ years managing a parts department, including stock control, pricing and P&L;

- Experience leading and developing a team
